#Unfiltered gives fans an exclusive glimpse at a day in the life of some of your favorite chart-toppers. From behind-the-scenes quotes to candid photos, iHeartRadio's latest series is all about providing readers with a one-of-a-kind look into the routine of the rich and famous.
Summer is winding down, but let's not forget the time iHeartRadio brought the second installment of our #Unfiltered series with Joe Jonas, Jack Lawless, JinJoo Lee and Cole Whittle also known as DNCE.
Back in June, iHeartRadio tagged along with our iHeartRadio Daytime Village performers for a couple of hours as they made their way to a very special Z100 hosted-mini-concert at the Empire State Building and a very generous trip to Shake Shack, all before their opening gig at Selena Gomez's "Revival Word Tour" on Wednesday (June 1).
12:04 p.m. - After walking into the Empire State Building, we meet DNCE hanging inside a conference room inside the quarters of the iconic city monument.
12:18 p.m. - It's showtime, so we take a stroll with the band and their entourage to our first stop of the day: Z100's private acoustic performance. It's also worth noting that JinJoo is rocking one hell of a bedazzled robe.
12:27 p.m. - And just like that, the group is already on stage with Z100's Maxwell for a chat about the origin of their band name. "One night we were texting each other trying to figure out band names and one too many drinks, [we] misspelled something and it kind of stuck," Joe Jonas says. "As you probably know, everything is taken and every website's taken. It was kind of impossible to find a name for a while. This one felt right, so we stuck with it."
12:43 p.m. - That's a wrap! It's now time for a quick meal and some post-set unwinding before an exclusive M&G with the concert winners from the upper exterior of the building.
1:01 p.m. - After three elevator rides and some tunes, courtesy of a cell phone, we're on to the 86th floor of the Empire State Building with the band. Oh, and Joe Jonas singing Hoobastank's "The Reason" en route is absolutely EVERYTHING.
1:04 p.m. - There's a breeze in the air and DNCE are doing their best pose for photographers at the top of the skyscraper. Our fear of heights is the last thing on our minds right now.
1:30 p.m. - We're off to meet the band at a promotional visit at the midtown Shake Shack location. Let's just say they're giving away — count them — 100 milkshakes to the first 100 fans in line.
1:44 p.m. - Among one of the first 100 fans in line is 20-year-old New Yorker Jazmyn Bryant. "I'm just a longtime fan ... like 2006," she says. "[I've followed them] throughout their band, solo career, breakup, and then solo career again, so I've always been here. I love all of them, but it just happens to be Joe most of the time, but I love Nick, too."
1:45 p.m. - As we wait for the foursome to arrive, a massive line begins to form at the Madison Square Park location.
2:13 p.m. Chanting? Check. Human body formation? Check. We're just a few minutes away from their arrival.
2:18 p.m. - They are here! Fans are excited. Random bystanders are excited. We've been with them throughout the afternoon and, frankly, we're excited, too. It's time to hand out milkshakes!
2:27 p.m. - And just like that, the distribution of 100 milkshakes begins, but it's going a little faster than anticipated.
2:35 p.m. - As we wait for the band's bus, Joe suggests an impromptu M&G with the devoted fans, who decided to wait around. Patience pays off, my friends.
2:45 p.m. - DNCE's bus is ready, so they're off to get some grub and make their way to Brooklyn for their Barclay Center show. Adios, entourage!
